Brief Class Description:
This workshop emphasizes personalizing your art. Whether you are a beginner or have been painting a long time, making art is about one’s personal vision and expression. So with exploration in mind, we will spend the first half of the morning working on art disciplines such as designing with color and making good shapes. We’ll also look at techniques such as brushwork and how to handle edges. The second half of the sessions will be devoted to implementing these ideas into your own personal expressive paintings.
If there is a second week of classes, we will continue with the same format, expanding ideas on composition and design, color and value, and developing techniques that include elements such as line, texture and pattern. There will be a few demonstrations, group critiques and slide presentations, but the majority of the time will be given to building a roadmap for personal growth and discovery.
The workshop will be 4 hours a day for 3 days from June 2 to June 4. (3 mornings)
Price for the entire workshop: USD$315
This does NOT include art supplies though Ruth can bring limited supplies to sell at cost.
Please contact Ashley Hamilton for more details and to register.
