Jacobus and Cornelia Erasmus owned a dairy farm here in the early 1800s. Carel Erasmus bought the farm in the 1877 and built a three-roomed house, which is the chapel today. In 1903, his son-in-law, Johan Marneweck, built his house on the land; this has since been converted into the Rademeyer's Restaurant. Moreleta Kloof Nature Area has an abundance of bird life as well as game such as springbok, blesbok, impala and zebra.
Participation is based on a first come first serve basis. If the hike is filled up, we encourage you to add yourself to the waiting list. Often more spaces can be made available if required.
