Via Ferrata Kandersteg - K4+

Planning to do the K4+ Allmenalp via ferrata near Kandersteg.
Anyone else interested in joining?

This Via ferrata is a K4+ and is for experienced climbers, comfortable with heights and good stamina. There is a lot of exposure, with iron pegs on a vertical rock face, cable bridges and traverses over a waterfall.

Climbing times: ca. 3 hrs
excluding eating break, approach and descent.

My plan is to go back down with the cable car after stopping for refreshments at the resturant at the top; nonetheless bring enough snacks for your needs, it's a long way up. ;-)

Meeting point: on the train or at Kandersteg Train station at 10:40

Train connection for those coming from Zurich:
08:32 - 09:28 Zurich HB - Bern
09:39 - 10:40 Bern - Kandersteg
Kandersteg - Allmenalp talstation: 20 mins walk

Return to Zurich (depending on finish time)

Quick checklist:

• via ferrata gear (helmet, harness, set)
• proper mountain footwear
• layered clothing
• enough water and snacks for the day ( note that the restaurant at the top may be closed)
• sunscreen and protection
• good vibes :)

I will create a whatsapp group to facilitate communication on the day;
don't rely on MeetUp to send messages, as I have found it unreliable and I may miss messages.

Should the weather turn not favourable, I will cancel the event.

Attention: note that this is not a guided tour, I'm not a mountain guide.
