Announcing the 6@6 Event Challenge

ANNOUNCING: the 6@6! The 6@6 is both an event and a template for future events, and, most importantly, an opportunity to make friends in a setting that makes that easy.

The 6@6 Event is a gathering of 4-12 nearby members, meeting on any designated day for a super-casual, no-preparation, eazy-peezy-getting-to-know-you-thing. It's about making new friends in an intimate nonjudgmental setting where where the talk is about things that matter to us as women of a certain age.

It can be in your home, a cafe, a park. It can be on any day of the week. It can be 8@6 (8 guests at 6:00), or 4@6 or a 6@2. It can be once-a-month or one time. The point is proliferation. Women >50 need community. And this is an easy way to get there. You won’t even need to write up an announcement. All you have to do to host a 6@6 is to fill out this secure form indicating your day/time preferences, and I’ll post your event. You only need to show up!

Ladies, we're here for a reason! And that reason is built right into the name of this group. If even one or two of you start the ball rolling, it can set the whole chapter moving. When I started FFF>50 in LA in 2016, it was a selfish endeavor...I needed more friends. Little did I know that the effort of one woman—me!—would galvanize an organization of 10,000+ members, and result in 100's of new friendships across the county.
