FFF>50 has an amazing new home on the web. When you join us there, you'll be able to search for members who live near you and/or share your interests, create an interest-based club, post discussions in an organized and searchable feed, upload images, and of course create gatherings large and small. Afternoon Tea and BYOBook Chat in Oakton VA!
Oakton, VA, To be provided, Oakton, VA, USLet’s get together for afternoon tea at a member's home in Oakton VA and chat about a book you just read or are currently reading. You’re welcome to gift/swap books but not necessary.
Space is limited to 8 people (total from our group on both Meetup and Mighty Networks), as only so many people can fit around the dining room table.
This event is kindly hosted by @Jin Bae, who will provide an assortment of teas and a baked good for snacking!
Please note:
- There is a non-shedding, overly-friendly, 17lb cockapoo in residence.
- First person to arrive can park in the empty spot in front of the house next to the tree; otherwise there is usually plenty of parking on the street along the fence.
Finding Female Friends >50 is permanently transitioning to the Mighty Networks platform, which is more protected and private, with more personal events (like book clubs in homes) and no pressure to pay (just minimal optional donations). Coffee and "Random Pranks of Kindness" in Cleveland Park!
Dolan Uyghur Restaurant, 3518 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC, USRandom acts of kindness are uplifting and wonderful. And harmless little pranks give us a chance to get silly and crack up together! Let's combine the two and use our creativity to spread December cheer and brighten people's days, including our own!
We'll start by gathering at 10:30 am at Dolan Coffee, just steps away from the Cleveland Park metro station.
We'll strategize for a while over a hot beverage (they have nice pastries too), then we'll walk through the neighborhood and carry out some random pranks of kindness! (Many thanks to Pattie for suggesting this great neighborhood by the Metro station!)
I've done this several times before and some of my favorites are:
- Secretly placed notes thanking businesses for their services (like the one for an independent bookstore in the photo)
- Uplifting affirmations tucked away for people to find (like under a restaurant table)
- Putting googly eyes on things (where they won't cause damage of course)

I'll bring sticky notes, tiny gifts, googly eyes, stickers, lists of affirmations, holiday cards and more, feel free to bring your own items and ideas too of course! (comment below with ideas even if you can't join!)
