What we’re about
Welcome! This is more than just a wine-tasting group. We can do our drinking at home anytime we want to. We are also about supporting local business-owners, making new friends and memories, and occasionally donating to local charities and non-profits.
The back story:
This group evolved many moons ago after it and another wine group splintered off to embark on a new journey of wine-tasting, fellowship, and helping local establishments gain exposure and thrive.
Some things to expect and to know about:
Most events will be at a local business that you may or may not have heard of and will be a great new discovery for some.
Some venues provide snacks and hors d'oeuvres while with others, we each bring something although not required.
Each month, a different wine will be the "theme". Staying within that theme is not required but encouraged. I.e. if the theme is Chardonnay but you're not a fan, bring something else to share that you will also enjoy.
Rules:
- If you are part of a one-income household, you are only required to bring a bottle to share every other month. If you are a two-income household or bring a guest each month, bring a bottle each month.
- Expensive wines not required. Most bring a standard wine. This isn't a black-tie affair. Think of this as a casual gathering with old friends.
- Most events are capped off at the certain number depending on the size of the venue. After that number is reached on the RSVP list, anyone who signs up after is on the waitlist until a spot opens up when there is a cancellation. With this said, repeated no-shows will be removed from the group as it can take a spot away from someone who would have showed. A no-show or last-minute cancellation is one thing but after several times of doing this, it becomes problematic since there are people who have been on the waitlist.
Any venue ideas are welcome!
