What we’re about
For Investors By Investors (FIBI) is a network of meetings across SoCal (and in other states) that was founded by investors in 2007 with the core foundation of no sales pitches at any of its meetings. FIBI now has over 10,000 members across 15 Chapters in SoCal and continues to grow. All FIBI Chapter Leaders strive to give back to the investing community in that their goal is to break even – not earn a profit – from attendees. We invite you to explore this and other FIBI chapters if you’re an investor who is looking to learn from and network with other like-minded investors.
We’ve all been to events that are informative and offer a unique perspective on the market. They offer great topics, great panels, great presenters…it’s all…well, GREAT! But what about the networking part? Sometimes at those events you only get a few minutes at the end to talk to the others in the room. The purpose of this group is to put you face to face with the people that can help you make things happen. The theme of this group is ‘Speed Networking’ and it is very different than anything you’ve ever experienced before. YOU WILL BE NETWORKING THE ENTIRE TIME…and I don’t mean walking around aimlessly hoping to bump into someone that might actually be a good connection. We make it so you get to talk to many fellow investors as fast and efficiently as possible in a fun and comfortable way!
Here’s how it works: You will sit at a long table across from another FIBI member, exchange business cards, tell them what you do, learn what they do, move down one seat and do it again! The catch is that you only have 3 minutes per rotation so have those elevator pitches ready! After about 1 hour you will have met many new contacts and you will break for drinks, snacks and open networking. Yes, it’s essentially speed dating…but for business…and way less awkward! We meet in West LA on the first Wednesday of every month.
