As of 7/8/11, our group has changed to being a closed meetup group. This means that in order to visit our message boards, etc., you will have to be a member of the group. All you have to do is sign up and you can have emails sent to you when new info is on the message boards, or just to find out when new meetings are scheduled. This will also provide some privacy for members so that we can discuss our medical/personal issues in a private manner. To join, you will need to email me directly - email@example.com . I will ask you a few questions about your reasons for wanting to join. Any kind of marketing is prohibited. The group is only for those who suffer from fibro/chronic pain, family and friends, or those who are simply interested in learning more about these illnesses. I hope you will join us. We are growing quickly and have a great group of members! The more members we have, the more information we have to share with each other and learn new ways to make our lives easier.
Once you become a member, you can also contact me through the "contact us" icon on the left side of the page. Emails sent here will come directly to me.
Thanks - Vickie Tway - Facilitator
ORIGINAL GROUP DESCRIPTION
Thanks for visiting our site! The purpose of our group will be to provide a strong support system to those of us who deal with pain and related symptoms on a daily basis. Sometimes our friends and relatives, no matter how well their intentions, just don't understand. Here you will be able to sit together with others who understand what you live with daily.
We will provide not only emotional support, but educational materials, guest speakers, meetings especially meant to include our friends and families who want more information, and social outings to allow us to step away from our pain, if even for a short while.
This is your group, and together we have the power to help each other. Please take a look around our site and see if it looks like something of interest to you. If so, please join so we can keep you updated by email regarding support group dates (set to start in Sept. 2010), and other happenings.
Always feel free to contact me directly with any questions or concerns. I am always available to those dealing with pain.
Hope to hear from you soon - Vickie Tway, Organizer
