Phoenix Folklore Friday- Traditional Storytelling and Song!

Details

Our local community of traditional storytellers continue their monthly series of Phoenix Folklore Friday! The evening is curated by Chrissy and Rachelle Dart, featuring traditional storytellers and tunesmiths from around the Valley and the South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute. June’s Storytelling Session as Phoenix Folklore Friday will be celebrating the Summer Solstice with stories and songs about fire, flames, the longest day, the Strawberry Moon, and much more. Join us for an evening of traditional stories and songs that allow for a pause to reconnect with each other, to honor the past, and to reawaken our kinship with nature. The evening commences at 7:30pm. There usually is a break between the two hours to grab a drink and a snack, unless we have some cancellations. Then we will run the session straight through. As always, the skill of the oral storyteller will ensure that the stories are appropriate for the audience.

P.S.
We will be taking a break during July and August, returning September 12 for an evening of Peace Tales commemorating the International Day of Peace. The stories will center around peace, peace keeping, conflict resolution, the futility of war, how to live with those around you, etc… If you are interested in sharing a story or a song, please contact us through the contact page on our website or send us an email and we will get back to you. www.phoenixfolklore.com
