Daniel Pearl World Music Days Concert Evening with Glen Gardner
Details
Friday, October 3, 2025, 7:30pm, doors at 7pm, $10: Glen Gardner shares his musical gifts with us as we remember Daniel Pearl.
The world has come to remember Daniel Pearl as the Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in early 2002, just four months after 9/11/2001. Since then, he has been remembered as a symbol of hope: a man who built bridges between diverse cultures, as a writer and as a gifted musician.
The annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days is a global network of concerts held throughout October, centered around Danny;s October 10th birthday, in the theme of "Harmony for Humanity". Daniel's parents established The Daniel Pearl Foundation in his memory, promoting mutual respect and understanding among diverse cultures through journalism, music, and dialogue. Through education and communication they work to empower voices of moderation to confront the hatred that took Danny's life. We know that Glen will have a perfectly curated evening of music for us that will embrace us in that spirit.
Glen Gardner picked up his first guitar at the age of 13 and hasn't put it down since. In his years since, Glen developed a solo act that has been honed at coffee houses and clubs from Boston to Phoenix. His set list can include contemporary tunes, classic rock and folk, and well-crafted originals. Glen coordinated and produced a brilliant CD collaboration with a variety of Phoenix musicians as a way to raise funds for Fidd's while we were closed during the worst of COVID. ("Dream Big" will be available at tonight's event, check it out!). Glen has some great new material that's he's been recording and producing in his studio and will be releasing a new CD soon.
Admission $10 at door. Doors open at 7pm. KN95 masks or better are required and provided free at the venue. Thanks for supporting the music as we continue celebrating our 38th year. We could not do it without the support of our local music community and the musicians and poets and other artists that create such beauty for us all.
We will have seriously strong, hot brewed coffee and other beverages (sodas, Boxed Water, teas, and such) available at the show for $2. You can enjoy your drink while inside the room, the earloop masks make that easy; we ask that you ensure that your sips are short and delightfully sweet, to minimize aerosols in the room.
