Saturday evening showcases Jacob Olson, helping us out in very short notice! Jacob Olson is a long time resident of Arizona, born and raised in Mesa. He first broke out onto the scene as an audio engineer at El Charro Hipster, running sound for the open mic and events. That’s also where he got the confidence to perform as his authentic self. His music is an eclectic blend of genres, so the instrumentation and timbre he utilizes may be better to go off of than any specific genre. He plays acoustic guitar, handpan, ukulele, and tongue drum, and vocally speaking he grew up singing the soprano line in children’s choirs. He maintains those high notes to this day, but most often when he sings or plays music, it’s not to impress, just to soothe and bring a tranquil joy to his listeners.
