About us
Intentional challenge. Calm strength. Grit that’s built, not forced.
Fierce Planet Adventures is a community-based outdoor adventure Meetup for people who want more than casual walks or race-paced hikes. We gather to move through natural environments with purpose—using thoughtfully structured outdoor experiences to build stamina, resilience, presence, and real-world grit over time.
Our core offerings include group hikes, weighted hikes, and scenic mindfulness-focused walks. Events are designed with clear pacing, progressive challenge, and realistic expectations so participants can self-assess, show up prepared, and move well as a group. Some outings are physically demanding; others are deliberately slower and more reflective. All are grounded in competence, personal responsibility, and respect for the environment and each other.
What makes Fierce Planet Adventures different is how we approach challenge. We’re not here to chase speed or suffer needlessly. We emphasize steady effort, sound decision-making, situational awareness, and learning how to stay present under effort. Over time, that’s how grit is built—through intentional struggle, good pacing, and showing up again when it would be easier not to.
Mindset and resilience elements are sometimes woven into events in simple, practical ways—brief reflections, awareness cues, or moments of intentional pacing—always tied directly to the activity at hand. Nothing is preachy. Nothing is sales-oriented. Participation is optional, and no prior experience with mindfulness or coaching is required.
This is a co-ed group welcoming moderately fit adults, beginner to intermediate hikers, and growth-oriented individuals who value self-responsibility and group pacing. Each event listing clearly outlines distance, pace, elevation, and gear considerations so participants can make informed choices.
Fierce Planet Adventures is not a thrill-seeking group, a therapy space, or a guided expedition service. It is a place for people who want meaningful time outdoors, a capable and grounded community, and challenges that are introduced intentionally and built progressively.
If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure Meetup where the pace is steady, the tone is calm, and the experience leaves you stronger, steadier, and more capable than when you arrived, you’ll fit right in.

Mindfulness Hike: Presence on Andrews Ridge
TVA Norris Dam Visitor Center, 1810 Norris Fwy, Norris, TN, US# Mindfulness Hike: Presence on Andrews Ridge
Wednesday, May 6 • 9:00 AM
Norris Dam State Park - TVA Visitor Center by the dam.Join us for a signature Fierce Planet mindfulness hike on the Andrews Ridge Trail at Norris Dam State Park.
This experience is intentionally different from our standard hikes.
This is not about logging miles, pace, or physical challenge. This is about slowing down, becoming present, and allowing time in nature to help restore clarity, calm, and grounded energy.
We’ll move at an easy, unhurried pace for approximately 2.75 miles round trip, with time built in for:
- guided breath awareness
- quiet walking intervals
- sensory observation
- seated reflection pauses
- forest sound awareness
- intentional presence in nature
The Andrews Ridge setting naturally supports this kind of experience with gentle terrain, peaceful forest canopy, benches for seated pauses, and a quiet ridge atmosphere.
Inspired by the principles of forest bathing and mindful walking, this hike is designed to support benefits such as:
- reduced stress and nervous system downshift
- clearer thinking and mental reset
- improved breath awareness
- deeper sensory connection to nature
- emotional grounding
- a stronger sense of calm and presence
Rather than focusing on distance, we’ll focus on the quality of attention we bring to the trail.
Expect about 2 hours total, giving us plenty of time to slow down and fully experience the forest.
If you’ve been craving space to breathe, reset, and reconnect with the natural world, this is your invitation.
### Helpful Optional Items
Because of the time of year, bug spray is highly recommended.
A small seat cushion or sit pad may also be useful during some of our reflection stops, since the benches along the trail are limited in size. Please also bring your normal trail essentials, including water, appropriate footwear, and weather-appropriate layers.
