## Overview
Midweek reset. Fresh air. Movement. Good people.
This evening hike takes us along the River Bluff Trail at Norris Dam State Park—a scenic route overlooking the Clinch River at a steady, conversational pace.
We’ll move for about an hour, shake off the day, and get a little distance under our feet without overcomplicating it.
This is a great option if:
- you’re coming straight from work
- you want something active but manageable
- you’re looking to get outside without committing your whole evening
## Route
We’ll follow the River Bluff Trail, approximately 3 miles total including the access trail.
Terrain is mostly:
- dirt trail
- light elevation changes
- well-defined path
## Distance & Difficulty
- Distance: ~3 miles
- Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
- Pace: Conversational, steady
## Meetup & Parking Plan
We’ll meet at the TVA Visitor Center (Norris Dam) and carpool to the trailhead.
- Meet: 5:40 PM
- Depart for trailhead: 5:50 PM
- Step-off: 6:00 PM sharp
👉 The trailhead parking area is small. Carpooling helps ensure we all get in without issues.
## Optional Post-Hike Meetup
We’ll head over to Clinch River Brewery after the hike for anyone who wants to stick around.

👉 Good chance to grab a drink, some food, and connect with the group.
## What to Bring
- Day hiking backpack (required)
- At least 1 liter of water (more if it’s warm)
- Snacks (optional)
- Hiking shoes or appropriate footwear
- Basic personal first aid kit
- Headlamp or reliable flashlight (required)
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Bug spray (seasonal)
