Figma in Gothenburg — Friends of Figma Kickoff + Hands-on Collaboration

We have some exciting news to celebrate: Figma in Gothenburg is now an official Friends of Figma community representing Gothenburg!

For our August meetup, we’re bringing the community together to celebrate this new chapter, explore what’s new in Figma, and spend the evening designing and experimenting together.

This will be a hands-on, collaborative session rather than a traditional presentation-only meetup.

We’ll start with a short introduction to what becoming part of Friends of Figma means for our Gothenburg community, what we want to build together, and what you can expect from upcoming events.

Then we’ll take a practical look at some of Figma’s latest features and workflows before jumping into a collaborative challenge where everyone can experiment, share ideas, and learn from each other.

17:30–18:00 — Arrival, mingle & welcome
Grab something to drink, meet other designers, developers, product people, and Figma enthusiasts.

18:00–18:20 — Friends of Figma Gothenburg
A short announcement about becoming an official Friends of Figma community, what it means for the group, and where we want to take the community next.

18:20–18:45 — What’s new in Figma
A practical walkthrough of selected recent Figma features, AI workflows, and new ways of designing and collaborating.

18:45–19:50 — Hands-on collaboration
We’ll split into small teams and work together on a creative design challenge using Figma. The goal is to experiment with new features, exchange workflows, and learn by building together.

No polished final result is required—the focus is exploration, collaboration, and trying things you might not normally use in your daily workflow.

19:50–20:15 — Show & share
Teams briefly present what they explored, what worked, what didn’t, and any interesting discoveries.

20:15–20:30 — Wrap-up & mingle
Community updates, upcoming meetup plans, conversations, and networking.

Who is this for?

Designers, developers, product managers, students, Figma beginners, experienced users, and anyone curious about modern product design workflows.

You don’t need to be a Figma expert. Bring your laptop, curiosity, and willingness to collaborate.
