"Culture, Cuisine, Cocktails, Coffee & Convos = Community"
This is a Chicago-Suburban meet-up group designed for people who enjoy the cinema, fine cuisine and more. Most evening events will consist of a movie, dinner, or a combination of both. Others may include a matinee followed by a film discussion afterwards at a local cafe. From time to time there will also be a foreign film, Indie or Classic movie scheduled, or even live theater.
We will have dining venues which will include diverse cuisines from around the world or around the block. In addition, other fun activities such as music venues, bowling, wine tastings, outdoor music fests/concerts, and more! Join us for ongoing dinner events like Porkapalooza, an exploration of area BBQ places; and BurgerTime, the same concept, but with Burgers. Check out the Pages section for where we've been and where we're going. Please let us know if there's some thing/some place you'd like to try, or if you'd like to host an event.
Please note: While all are welcome, consistent no-shows and those who use e-mail/Meetup to disparage other members will be removed from the group.

ONLINE FREE Saturday Night Trivia!
·OnlineOnlineJoin us for some Team Trivia on Ludio! We run the best Trivia nights ever :D
Ludio (https://ludio.gg) is a videoconferencing platform with games built directly into it.
Our Team Trivia features 5 categories - the players who show up will veto 2 of them, leaving 3 categories for the game. Teams get shuffled after each category so that you get to play with as many people as possible, and a winner (or multiple winners) are crowned after each round. The game takes about 45-60 minutes; after the Trivia is over, we keep playing other lighthearted games with whoever sticks around.
If you’re looking for a more traditional Bar Trivia where you come with a team/stick to the same team for the whole game, we do those once a month for our regulars. Join our Discord (https://discord.gg/baPBbgQgBH) and ask about Bar Trivia to learn more!
We advertise this event in multiple groups and many of our regulars don’t RSVP anymore. RSVPs are not indicative of how many people will show up - we get a consistent turnout of at least 15 people!
Requirements:
- You will need a computer or a tablet (no phones sorry)
- You need a Chromium-based browser on your computer (e.g. Google Chrome)
- You will need a webcam and microphone to participate in the games

📖 ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF BROADCAST COMMUNICATIONS
Founded in Chicago in 1982 with a $250 seed contribution from the Chicago Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the MBC was the brainchild of journalist and broadcaster Bruce DuMont — whose uncle Allen B. DuMont founded the legendary DuMont Television Network. 📺 Early supporters included The MacArthur Foundation, Arthur C. Nielsen Jr., Paul and Angel Harvey, Betty White, Bob Newhart, Jane Pauley, and Mike Wallace — a true who's who of broadcasting royalty! 🌟The museum officially opened in June 1987 at River City on the Near South Side, featuring thousands of hours of TV and radio programming in its A.C. Nielsen Research Center. It later moved to the Chicago Cultural Center in 1992, drawing nearly 200,000 visitors annually and ranking among Chicago's top tourist attractions. In 2012 it reopened at 360 N. State St. — with a ribbon-cutting attended by Chicago-born actors John Mahoney and Betty White — showcasing beloved artifacts like the WGN Bozo's Circus set, stage doors from The Oprah Winfrey Show, and the original Charlie McCarthy puppet by Edgar Bergen. 🎭
After navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and a building sale in 2023, the MBC triumphantly reopened in October 2025 at its stunning new home at 440 W. Randolph St — featuring brand new exhibits, familiar collection highlights presented in fresh interactive ways, and a grand celebration of Johnny Carson's centennial and 75 years of late-night television. A true Chicago comeback story! 🎉
