Andrew Scott is said to be terrific as the British meteorologist tasked with the then very tricky task of predicting whether the weather would be good enough for D Day. Decision makers back then were haunted by the abject failure of the D Day practise run, Exercise Tiger, six weeks earlier. So everything was riding on the weather.

IMDB says: "In the tense 72 hours before D-Day, General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Captain James Stagg face an impossible choice--launch the most dangerous seaborne invasion in history or risk losing the war altogether."

Do we want to meet for a drink before from about 6.30pm? The film will end at around 10pm and I will need to leave fairly swiftly.

The review on the Roger Ebert website is particularly interesting. This was adapted from a theatre play.
