Writing Group for Support and Constructive Criticism

We are going to meet TWICE A MONTH:

*1st Monday at the Robertson Library 11am

*3rd Monday at the Baldwin Hills Library at 11am

If you would like to read your work, please RSVP and bring five double-spaced pages, and copies for five people.

We advertise this meetup with flyers at local libraries and on other online social media as well.

MEETUP DESCRIPTION

• This is a meetup mostly for book writers, but if you're a screenwriter, we will also read pages from your screenplay. The two main organizers write both screenplays and books.

What is this meetup about? Every author gets fifteen minutes in which they can present a few pages of their book. All writers in the group will then offer support, feedback and notes (at the author's discretion).

Who gets to read? We will decide at the library who will read, based on who wants to read. Please RSVP if you would like to be one of the authors involved in this weekly group, and specify if you would like to bring your pages. Please also add a short description about what you're writing about. We're thinking about accepting 20 RSVPS for each meetup, since usually a few people cancel before this type of event.

What are this group's goals? We would like to help each other finally finish the book we're writing. Hopefully this meetup will help us set up deadlines and inspire all of us to go to the next stage, which would be publishing!
