We're continuing the Finance Fabric User Group with our next session: "Power BI's Next Arc: AI-Ready Evolution of Dashboards to Dialogue."

This session is designed for finance and accounting professionals who already work in Power BI and want to understand where it's going. Power BI is now part of Microsoft Fabric. AI is reshaping how finance teams get answers, moving from "click through a dashboard" to "ask a question and get a chart back." And the data foundation underneath it all matters more than ever. This was originally delivered to AFP members; this round is built specifically for the broader finance community with more hands-on walkthroughs and less of a pure conversation format.

What we'll cover:

  • Fabric and Power BI — What is Fabric, why finance should care, and how Fabric improves Power BI
  • AI in Power BI — From dashboards to dialogue, and why probabilistic answers behave differently than deterministic ones
  • Getting the foundation right — Why the semantic model, architecture, and governance now matter more than the visuals on top of them
  • What finance teams should retire and what to embrace — concrete shifts to make as Copilot and conversational analytics roll out

Bryan Lapidus will host the session, joined by Khaled Chowdhury and Alex McPherson.
