Your Future In Finance is an event is for anyone who is either just moving out of practice, has been in industry for a short period of time, hasn't worked in the tech industry before or just those who are early on in their career.

The event will feature 4 speakers, each with very different career journeys and experiences to share:

Rowly Bourne - War Stories from Rowly Bourne Head of VC&C Partnerships at META
Whether you are currently in audit, consulting, or M&A - Rowly’s done it. His key lesson: do everything in your 20s, get experience and learn what you like, so long as, so that in your 30s you are well on your way to doing what you enjoy and what is important for you in your 40s - his personal intentions, is something we will be privileged to by the end of his talk. But before that he will explore the impact his time in consulting had on his career as an entrepreneur, he will share ‘war stories’ from his experiences working in high growth start-ups, particularly when taking Rezonence on their growth journey, he will tell you how to identify an exciting and high growth start-up when looking for one to join and he will explain from a founders point of view: how to add value as a commercial finance leader - all through the lens of personal experience, some hindsight and honesty about any self-professed ‘mistakes’.

Seema Sangar - Finance: Influencing Strategic Business Direction
There is a huge breadth of opportunity outside of Finance. But, how do you use your Finance background to step into that world? I personally never worked in Practice, I have worked in Industry and been more involved in "the business side of things" and have even worked as a co-CEO. In my talk I will explore two case studies, from roles in my career. I will analyse and explain exactly how I was able to bring my Finance background and perspective to the table and contribute to the strategic direction of each business. I will speak to you about the challenges I faced and demonstrate exactly how I got buy-in from the Board by presenting the data and stats I used. An overarching theme to my talk will be change and transformation. You can be instrumental to pivitol moments in businesses.

David Norris - Diversity of Thought & the People Around You
The founding principles of Finance apply in every company, in every industry. Getting out of my ‘Finance Box’ was the best thing for my career. But it’s okay not to know what industry you want to go into. It's okay to explore! There is a reason that most grad schemes work on rotation. I want to tell you about some of the lessons I learnt from various industries and how I transferred them when I moved. My journey to where I am now in FinTech has been extremely varied; from Audit to Consultancy to Pharmaceuticals, FMGC and Banking! I will conclude my talk with my three most valuable lessons and encourage you, the audience, to ask questions and challenge my ideologies.

Davinder Mann - Accelerating Your Growth
I spent the first 10 years of my career focusing on technical experience. But once I became an FD, my role was largely centered around connections and relationships. Sure, in the early stages of your career gaining technical experience is important; I want to share some simple tools and techniques which can help you to gain the personal skills I wish I had gained sooner! I will look back at my career journey and get you to think about yours. Which areas can you accelerate? Which areas have external parameters? What type of person are you right now?

Aside from the brilliant talks, you can expect to enjoy food and drinks over great conversation with like minded people.
