Ready to begin your path to financial freedom? Let’s talk FIRE!

Whether you are already calculating your savings rate every month or you literally just heard the term FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) yesterday, this meetup is for you.
This is a relaxed, judgment-free space to meet local, like-minded people who seek a better life through financial independence and would like to either get started, keep going, or share with others how they accomplished it.

The Plan
We are keeping it simple, social, and collaborative:

• The who, what and why: An introduction to the general concept of FIRE and how it transforms lives by providing financial freedom and making work optional.
• The Roundtable: A quick round of introductions where everyone can share one financial goal or one big question they have.
• Open Chat: Group talk on the goals and questions and then split into smaller groups, and chat about everything from index funds and budgeting hacks to lifestyle design and early retirement dreams.
• Wrap Up: Review take away points and any actions we want to take next in our own lives.

Location & Logistics

• Where: Icon Hotel - Biblioteca Area. Carrer de Roger de Llúria, 21
• When: Every Wednesday from 7-9pm
• Cost: 7€, paid to Icon Hotel, which includes your first drink. Please note that everyone must pay this as it allows us access to the hotel facilities.

Who is this for?

• Beginners: You want to save more, invest smarter, and figure out how the FIRE thing actually works.
• On the Journey: You’re actively investing, tracking your net worth, and want to swap strategies.
• FIRE’d: You’ve already achieved independence and want to mentor others or share your experience.

Language note:
This event will be in English though all languages are welcome to join.

About the organizer:

My name is Andrew, I'm American and have lived in Barcelona for nearly 10 years. I have been on the FIRE journey for many years (though not retired yet) and am eager to collaborate with, and inspire, others that are either just starting, mid-journey or veterans. I look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Go into the Icon hotel, turn right and head toward the back. On your right there is a small bar where you need to pay the 7€ and get your drink. The 'Biblioteca' is at the back and to the left.

Tanto si ya calculas tu tasa de ahorro cada mes como si acabas de escuchar ayer el término FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early), este encuentro es para ti.
Este es un espacio relajado y sin juicios para conocer a personas afines de la zona que quieran empezar su camino, seguir avanzando o compartir con otros cómo lo han conseguido.

## El plan

Lo mantendremos sencillo, social y colaborativo:
El quién, qué y por qué: Una introducción al concepto general de FIRE y a cómo puede transformar vidas.
La mesa redonda: Una breve ronda de presentaciones en la que cada persona podrá compartir un objetivo financiero o una gran pregunta que tenga.
Charla abierta: Conversaremos en grupo sobre esos objetivos y preguntas, y después nos dividiremos en grupos más pequeños para hablar de todo, desde fondos indexados y trucos para ahorrar hasta diseño de estilo de vida y el sueño de la jubilación anticipada.
Cierre: Repasaremos las principales conclusiones y las acciones que cada uno quiera llevarse para aplicar en su propia vida.

## Ubicación y logística

• Dónde: Icon Hotel – Área de la Biblioteca. Carrer de Roger de Llúria, 21
• Cuándo: Todos los miércoles de 19:00 a 21:00
• Coste: 7 €, pagados directamente al Icon Hotel, que incluyen la primera consumición. Ten en cuenta que todos los asistentes deben abonar este importe, ya que nos permite acceder a las instalaciones del hotel.

## ¿Para quién es este encuentro?

Principiantes: Quieres ahorrar más, invertir mejor y entender de una vez cómo funciona todo esto del FIRE.
En el camino: Ya estás invirtiendo, haces seguimiento de tu patrimonio y te gustaría intercambiar estrategias con otras personas.
FIRE conseguido: Ya has alcanzado la independencia financiera y te apetece ayudar a otros o compartir tu experiencia.

## Idioma

El evento será en inglés, aunque todas las personas y todos los idiomas son bienvenidos.

## Sobre el organizador

Me llamo Andrew, soy estadounidense y llevo casi 10 años viviendo en Barcelona. Llevo muchos años siguiendo el camino FIRE (aunque todavía no me he jubilado) y me entusiasma conectar con personas que estén empezando, que ya lleven un tiempo en el camino o que hayan alcanzado la independencia financiera. ¡Tengo muchas ganas de conoceros a todos!

## 👋 Cómo encontrarnos

Entra en el Hotel Icon, gira a la derecha y dirígete hacia el fondo. A tu derecha encontrarás un pequeño bar donde tendrás que pagar los 7 € y pedir tu bebida. La «Biblioteca» está al fondo, a la izquierda.
