Figuring out social media for your business (without losing yourself)

Details
If you’re building something solo, whether it’s a business, a personal brand, or a creative project, you probably already know this:
Social media is no longer optional.
You need exposure to your work that you care about, you need trust so people take you seriously, and you need reach to find customers/clients.
And if you’re not actively building those things, you're falling behind.
It is also one of the most effective ways to gain clients and customers you actually want to work with if done well.
You're probably constantly putting this off, thinking you'll get to it one day, and keep "perfecting" your product or portfolio.... but audience growth doesn’t happen overnight, and the longer you wait, the more catching up you’ll have to do.
The pressure is building, and deep down… you know it.
If you’re introverted, value your privacy, or cringe at the idea of putting your face on camera... I get it. That was me.
Why this event exists
I used to avoid social media completely. It felt fake, loud, and exhausting.
But I knew my business wouldn’t grow in the dark (my favourite place). I couldn't rely on word of mouth or lucky breaks forever.
So I reluctantly wandered down the social media route to see if I could make it work on my own terms, without an agency, without oversharing, and without pretending to be someone I’m not.
The problem I had is I'd overthink everything! Best strategies, cameras, mics, lighting, scripts, audiences niche etc. This stalled me for over 10 years (a convenient way of procrastination!
After a good few years and lots and lots of stupid and wasteful mistakes I've been able to grow my accounts.
- 130k+ followers on Instagram
- 400k+ on TikTok
- 35k+ on YouTube (one I'm working on now!)
- A steady stream of aligned clients and opportunities
- And, weirdly… confidence in public speaking (which surprised me)
Having a warm audience also means you have a direct connection to your customer base, which means you can get rapid feedback on your product/services so you can make sure you build the right solutions!
This isn’t a masterclass or a seminar. It’s just me, sharing what I’ve learned.

- If you're overthinking it, stuck at zero, or struggling to stay consistent this should be for you.
I'm just a solo person looking to share my experience, this is not a masterclass or seminar, I just like helping people who are like me!
Why I'm doing this
I like being around real builders, people trying to make something meaningful, who care about their work and want to do it right.
Social media is a massive bottleneck for so many inspiring people I meet. And honestly, it doesn’t take much to unlock it, especially if you’re early on or overwhelmed by all the advice out there.
I already help a bunch of people informally in other groups and chats, and I wanted to create a space where we can share ideas, talk honestly about what’s working, and be in a room with others who bring that same kind of energy.
If that sounds like you, come along.
My background:
As an introvert who's been terrified of putting my face on camera this journey has been incredibly challenging, but learning how to do this enabled me to gain a boost in exposure to my message, clients to my business, and just general confidence in speaking! (which came as a surprise)
I'll share how I did a complete 180 from being against social media to being very pro-social media for some unlikely reasons.
I'll be sharing my personal experience growing my own accounts from 0 with no prior knowledge, no agencies etc, to building audiences big enough to make my business operate without needing to buy ads or have a hefty marketing agency budget.
I pushed back on a lot of the advice that was given to me, mainly because I didn't have the energy the advice assumed you had and I didn't agree with the morals and ethics of communicating and marketing methods. I wanted to do it in a way that felt authentic to me whilst being effective from a business perspective.
I'll share some of the very specific tactics around audience growth, dealing with self-doubt and fear of failure/judgement.
For anyone that attends, I'll also be able to give some customized suggestions and strategies for your approach.
Note: I might run this monthly, as this is the first session. If you want proper time and tailored help, now’s the best time to come, before it gets busy.
