Welcome to First Sparks — our debut singles event in Hemel Hempstead for ages 30 - 50.
A relaxed, fun evening designed for single people who are done with dating apps and actually want to meet someone in person.
7:00pm Arrive & Settle In
Come in, grab a drink, and relax. Our host will greet you at the door. The first 15 minutes are just for getting comfortable and meeting a few people naturally.
7:15pm Host Welcome
Our host kicks things off with a short 2-minute intro: what to expect, how the rounds work, and a reminder that this is meant to be fun and low-pressure.
7:20pm Guided Mixer
You'll be seated in small mixed groups of 4–6. Each table has a conversation prompt card — flip it and use it as a starter. Around 10 minutes per rotation, by which you’ll have met almost everyone in the room – naturally and without any pressure.
8:05pm Free Mingle
Rounds are done — now it's your time. Talk to whoever you'd like to get to know better. The bar is open, the music is on. Write down the first name(s) of anyone you'd like to stay in touch with on a small card — completely privately. Hand it back to the host before 9:00pm. If someone you liked has also liked you, we'll let you both know within 24 hours. No public rejection, ever.
9:00pm Close
We'll wrap up the formal part of the evening. You're very welcome to stay at the bar as long as you like — many guests do!
What To Know Before You Arrive:
- You don't need to bring anything — just yourself
- Wear what makes you feel confident (smart-casual is the vibe)
- You don't need to know anyone — that's the whole point!
- Arrive on time — the guided rounds start promptly at 7:20pm
- The venue has a full bar — drinks are not included in the ticket price unless stated
- Name badges are first-name only — nothing awkward
