CIRCLE of Homeschoolers

Citrus Heights, CA

CIRCLE of Homeschoolers

CIRCLE of Homeschoolers - (Children Involved in a Respectful Cooperative Learning Environment)

WHO ARE WE?  We are homeschoolers. You can use an umbrella school, some families use a private school affidavit, most use a local homeschool charter school. Regardless of means,  method, or philosophy we all just homeschool. We have kids of all ages from babies to teens and we plan a variety of activities that will appeal to all ages, as well as some that are specific to particular age groups.

WHAT WE DO AND WHERE?  We typically have several events a week and for the most part they are held in Fair Oaks, Folsom, and Roseville then wherever else our adventures take us! Our events include park days, field trips, educational days, holiday parties, creek days, classes, etc. are held throughout the surrounding areas.

OUR ATMOSPHERE!  To help our group thrive we need our group events to be harmonious. We like our events to be peaceful, inclusive, and filled with kindness. We try to avoid having an atmosphere that includes yelling, being unkind or harsh, or filled with drama. This goes for both the parents and the kids.

We do ask that all older kids remember that they are influencing the younger crowd and that they behave appropriately. We do not allow cursing, name-calling, or destructive/disrespectful behavior at our events. We can share information on our favorite curriculum and our favorite homeschool classes while our kids have a chance to learn and play together knowing that they are in a safe environment. If parents need to address issues with their kids, we ask that it is done so in a respectful way.

PARTICIPATION  This group requires in-person participation and support from its members to be successful. We ask that each family contribute by hosting an event in some way: by setting up a field trip or tour, hosting a co-op, opening up their homes for an event, planning a park day, planning a themed park day, etc. With each family planning at least ONE event per year (you can even plan an event with a friend) we can greatly enrich our homeschool year. There are many ways you can help, just let us know what your strengths are and what you can offer to the group. When you know what you want to do, send me the information and I will post it on Meetup.

FEES  This group does require an annual fee. Dues, $15.00 per family, are good through OCTOBER 2022. This will fund the site, but will also help the group by having people actually commit to being a part of it. Often free groups have lots of lookers without many active participants. By charging a fee, people tend to feel more committed and want to "get their money's worth" from the group by attending events and participating.

PROCESS TO JOIN   We do require that you complete the profile questions (so we can learn about you), that you have a profile picture of yourself and/or your kids (this is so we can find you at the meetups), and attend an event or two before your membership is approved. Upon requesting to join, I will send you the details of the next three “Park Days” on our calendar, for a free trial if you will. Our Park Days can be simple to just get together and sometimes are themed and we are having a party or special activity. You do not need to arrive “on time” to Park Days as they are fluid and people come and go as their schedule allows. So if you will be an hour late that will be fine - the only exception is if it is a themed day because there will be a start time for activities so you may miss out if late. If that won’t bother you or your kids then still try to come! After attending at least one event should you decide the group is a good fit for your family, pay the annual dues, and the approval will be made.

LASTLY, WE ARE A NUT-FREE GROUP. Okay, we may be nutty homeschoolers, but because of the life-threatening allergies of some of our members, we do not allow nuts of any kinds (including peanut butter and other nut butters) at any of our events. If your food says it may be processed at a facility with nuts, it's okay to bring. If it contains nuts, it is not. [If you can only think of foods containing peanuts now and need an alternative; my kids like sunbutter (it’s made from sunflower seeds) better than peanut butter.]

If our group sounds like a good fit for you so far, please click above to join!! We look forward to meeting you and your homeschooling family soon!!

Baby Boomer Singles

Sacramento, CA

Baby Boomer Singles

Thank you for checking us out. We got together and decided that the time was right for a truly welcoming group targeting the single baby boomers in our community. No need to sit home anymore, give us some ideas for fun activities and we will make it happen. Our goal is to have an environment where everyone is welcomed and feels comfortable. We are NOT a "dating" group. We are a social group enabling singles to find friends and enjoy activities.

By the way, Baby Boomers are those born between 1946 and 1964.

We would like to point out the following, so things will run smoothly:

1. We now charge an annual membership fee of $5.00 to cover administrative fees, membership fees, and supplies. If you choose to join our group, you will have a 180-day trial period (due to coronavirus restrictions) before you need to pay dues. Come check us out and see if we are a good fit foor you! Dues are suspended until September 2022.

3. New members are encouraged to attend a HOSTED event for their first event so they are greeted and introduced to members. Some of our events are non-hosted (no name tags, no one to officially welcome members) and those are better to attend once a new member has been to a few hosted events.

4. When you are planning to attend any event you need to RSVP (YES) and if for any reason you can't attend that event you need to change your RSVP to (NO). (This is very important). If you can't get to a computer to RSVP (NO) you can email us to let us know you can't attend and why. Due to the large number of member "No-Shows" and in fairness to the rest of the group, anyone who No-Shows 4 times will be removed from the group.

5. When attending a physically active event (hiking, biking, walking, etc.) please participate at your own risk. The Baby Boomers are not liable for any injury or health issues you may have.

We look forward to seeing you at your first event!

The Hammerin' Wheels Mountain Bike Club

Folsom, CA

The Hammerin' Wheels Mountain Bike Club

The Hammerin' Wheels are all about being active on your bicycle. Our club is divided into 3 separate group sites. You are currently on the Mountain bike site. We ride mostly on dirt trails but do ride paved trails/roads when necessary for trail connectivity. Due to the progression of our members over the years, most events are geared to Budding Intermediate to Advanced riders due to improved skill and fitness levels of our most active ride leaders and/or members who regularly join our rides, but occasionally have rides for novice or beginners. Rides, may break into sub groups based on skill/fitness of rider turnout or rides may indicate a required level of skill and fitness to participate. Members should always be familiar with the trails they intend to ride and what skill and fitness is required before participating. Our group is currently looking for folks who are interested and willing to lead novice and beginner rides. If you are a novice or beginner and interested in joining this group, please consider requesting to be an Event Organizer to help us keep our novice and beginner riders rolling in the dirt.

If you want to hit the pavement at a "casual" pace you will want to visit Here you will find rides that very from 10-30 miles usually on flat paved roads or trails where speed tends to be in the 8-12 mph range.

If you want a little more "spice" in your pavement ride you will want to visit our road bike site at Here you will find rides that vary in length and speed, this site is meant for cyclists who have combination of experience and/or some sort of athletic ability.

Listed below are our Club Sponsors. These are the people who help to keep this a FREE group!! Your patronage of our Club Sponsors are greatly appreciated. Please stop in or call to say "Thanks for sponsoring the Hammerin' Wheels!!!"

So who are we and what are we about? Simply put we are a growing group of cyclists in the Sacramento area who enjoy the company of others while riding bikes. We try to cater to everyone on some level. It doesn't matter if you are a hardcore cyclist, or if you ride purely for the social aspect. We welcome riders of all levels on all terrains. However, for beginner and novice riders, we ask that you come well prepared and comfortable navigating the trails on your own if there are no volunteer ride leaders to guide your groups.

This group is all about having fun and being safe while riding. Due to health and safety reasons, please observe and adhere to the following:

*A HELMET IS REQUIRED for all our rides! We reserve the right to turn you away from riding with the group if you do not have one.

*Pets are not allowed to accompany you while riding with our group during an organized Hammerin' Wheels event. Pets (if well behaved) may be permitted during "pre" or "post-ride" activities if approved in advance by Event Host.

*Kids under 18 are not permitted to join any Hammerin' Wheel event unless accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

*Smoking/vaping around others in the group before, during, or after a ride is NOT permitted.

*Due to COVID issues, we respectfully ask that you refrain from spitting while riding with the group. If you absolutely need to clear your nasal passages (we get it), out of respect for others, please use a hanky or step far away from the group and do so discreetly off the trail.

*Organizers reserve the right to turn people away before or turn them back during a ride if they feel a rider is in over their head. If you have any questions for whether a ride is right for you, please feel free to contact the ride organizer.

*If your profile has not been filled out, you may be contacted by a ride organizer to determine your skill level fits the posted event.

Courtesy on the trails

Yield: Yield means slow down, establish communication, be prepared to stop, and pass in a safe and friendly manner. Hikers yield to horses, and bikes yield to hikers and horses as shown by the arrows on the multi-use yield sign.

Respect. It's a simple concept: If you offer respect, you are more likely to receive it. All trail users have rights and responsibilities to each other, and to our trails.

Smile. Greet. Nod. How are you perceived by other trail users? Even if you are a caring and friendly individual, with your helmet, sunglasses and a facial expression concentrating on the trail, you may appear intimidating to other trail users. Smile, say "Hi!" and ring your bell if you have one. It will promote goodwill on the trail and happiness to the trails community that we are a part of.

· Ring your bell before you approach so as to not startle them.

· Scan the trail ahead for other trails users.

· Anticipate other trail users and ring your bell around corners or in blind spots.

Don't block the trail. When taking a break, move to the side of the trail. Don't stop or lay a bike or backpack on the trail, especially on a blind comer.

Don't tune out. If you need to listen to music wear earbuds. It is best to only wear one earbud at a low volume so you hear any communications of other trail users.

Ride in Control Speed, inattentiveness and rudeness are the primary sources of trail conflict among user groups. If you need to pass, slow down, ring a bell or verbally announce yourself, and wait until the other trail user is out of the path. Use extra caution around horses, which are unpredictable. Be extra aware when riding trails with poor sight lines and blind corners, and make sure you can hear what's going on around you.

Encounters with Equestrians Stop your bike and ask equestrians if it is ok to pass. Horses are easily startled. Horses recognize the human voice more so than bells. In general, if you meet an equestrian on a trail,

· Stop and move to the downhill side to let them pass.

· Talk to the rider and respect how they prefer to pass with their horse.

The rider will appreciate your courtesy.

Encounters with other Cyclists: When approaching other cyclists, the biker going uphill has the right-of-way. This courtesy is extended to not break the climbers momentum and because it is easier to restart when going downhill if there is a need for someone to stop for a safe pass. Note that the person with the right-of-way can choose their path. They may not follow the convention of staying to the right if that is not their best path, even on fire roads!

Keep singletrack single Ride thru puddles, not around them.

Please remember that the members of the Leadership Team of this group are all volunteers. They do this for nothing more than their love of riding. They put a lot of time and effort into setting up these events, with that said please show them the courtesy and keep your RSVP up to date.

If you choose to RSVP "Yes" for an event, Please follow through and show up. It is not fair to the rest of the group to sit around waiting for someone who is never going to show. If you develop a pattern of this behavior you will be removed from the group. We understand that "life happens" and you may need to change an RSVP at the last minute. In this event please try to contact your event organizer to let them know.

Attending events

When attending events you will be given a time to meet. Rides are normally scheduled to leave 15 minutes after the meet time. As an example if the calendar indicates a 9am meet time the ride is scheduled to begin at 9:15am. If you need additional time to unload, set up, warm up, etc, please arrive early. Rides will leave as close to on time as possible. If you show up 5 minutes before the start of the ride you risk being left behind. Please don't be "that guy", it is extremely disrespectful to those who took some personal responsibility to get there on time. Again, please arrive early!

Information about email and your settings

If you are not a fan of email you will want to update your settings at the following link. Click here to update your email settings! There are a number of options that can be turned off to help ease your pain. I would highly suggest you leave the "Special announcements from Organizer(s) to members" checked so you can receive important messages from the group Organizer(s)

Post event survey

If you attend an event please take 30 seconds to fill out the post event survey. This is a valuable tool for the Organizing team as it allows us to make the events better in the future. This is your chance to provide feedback you may have about the group, both good and bad. Please try to keep your criticism constructive.

We are ALWAYS seeking people who are interested in setting up and leading rides, for all level of riders (especially the slower paced rides!!) and in all surrounding areas. If this sounds like something that may interest you, please let me know.

This is a public group and we take lots of pictures. In regards to ownership, once photos are uploaded to the site they become property of the club. If you are at all concerned with property rights please do not upload anything to the site.

While there are no fees to join this group, this group is not free to operate. This group runs strictly on donations, sponsorship from local businesses and clothing sales. If you like what we do please take a second to visit the donation center and make a donation to the club. We are asking for a minimum of $5 a year. Once your donation has been received you will earn the "Group Supporter" badge!

Any money received in excess of the operating costs will be placed back into the group for value add items like door prizes, official HW event support costs and of course the now world famous Hammerin' Wheels Birthday Bash (summer BBQ). You can use the Paypal link on the home page or you can use the button below.

If you would rather use standard mail to donate please email the organizer directly. We will also accept any donations in person if you are not comfortable using standard mail or the online method. Thank you in advance!

Sacramento Area Golfers

Sacramento, CA

Sacramento Area Golfers

Welcome to the Sacramento Area Golfers (SAG). We are a co-ed group of intermediate to advanced golfers who participate in golfing events around the Sacramento area, other cities and countries!  We travelled together to So. Africa (2016),  Scotland (2017), SE Asia (2019), and planning Australia/New Zealand 2021!!  We usually play 18 holes but on occasion will play a 9 hole course after work, or join group practice sessions to build on our golfing skills.  We try to follow USGA guidelines to the best of our abilities.  The bottom line is, we just want to golf, enjoy each other's company, and have fun!  We DO try to observe the basics of golfing etiquette.

Minimum requirements to play with SAG:
- At least one year experience playing 18 hole courses.  This group is not for beginning golfers.
- Average score less than 110-115.  (If you're average score is closer to 120-130 you will need to increase your    skill level before playing with us)
-Know the basic rules of golf and golf etiquette
-You must have a recognizable photo of yourself on your member profile
-Please make sure that you have your first and last name on your member profile

Please know the basic rules of golf and golf etiquette before you play with our group.

Being focused on your "Pace of Play", playing "Ready Golf", and adhering to golf etiquette are very important concepts in our group. Less experienced golfers can play well with more experienced golfers when these rules are followed.

Please be aware of our RSVP cancellation policy:
"Members who cancel within 48 hours of an event must donate $20 to SAG's Membership Fund at Members are removed from SAG at Organizer's discretion after 3 no-shows. Please be courteous and remove your RSVP if you can’t attend an event".

Whether you participate in our golf outings or our non-golf social events, you are responsible for any damages or injuries you cause to property or other persons.  You are participating at SAG events at your own risk, and neither the Organizer nor the Event Organizers will be liable for damages or injuries caused by any of our members (or their guests) during our meetups or travel to and from our meetups.  SAG is also not liable for any injuries inflicted upon it members or damages done to members' properties or loss of properties (including golf equipment, transportation, etc.) during events and travel to and from our meetups.  SAG members are responsible for reimbursing SAG for any incurred costs associated with your event cancellation.

Welcome to Witch's Cottage of Folsom!

This group is for women only, over the age of 18. Teen Girls may attend with an adult female member.

We’re an active, friendly, welcoming group who meet 2-3 times a month. We are not a coven, but we celebrate Pagan holidays, and have classes and craft activities whenever we can. If you have an area of interest to teach, please let one of the organizers know. You may also be asked to lead a Ritual. If you are nervous, one of the others will help and guide you. Remember, we learn most when we are teaching and leading.

We require new members to attend at least one event in the first 3 months of joining this group. Annual membership dues are $40 each calendar in cash or in-kind (donated items such as paper plates, table cloths, craft supplies, etc) year per person (this helps to offset meetup fees {$200 per year for the MeetUp website}). You may pay $40 to Christina at any event in the first 3 months; if you do not attend an event within three months or pay membership dues, you will be removed from the group. We require a picture of yourself on your profile.

I share with you the following information, for you to seriously consider before applying for membership.

*Respect is an absolute! We respect each other on all levels of religion, sexual orientation, boundaries, and confidence. What is shared in this group, stays in this group. Any violation of confidentiality is ground for dismissal from the group.

*You must have a way to get to the meetings on your own.

*You must have the time and interest to follow through by attending soon and, hopefully, often.

*You’re not required to hold, or share any particular beliefs, but you must be open-minded and respectful.

*Politics are not discussed in our group.

*You do not need to have a lot of knowledge or experience, as we happily share what we know.

If you’re still eager to join this group, please answer our questions with sincere and complete answers and provide a picture of yourself.
