Mindfulness Wed Night: Special Event Forest Therapy

Details

Dear members,

We are thrilled to announce that one of our favourite events has come back!

Forest therapy, inspired by the Japanese practice of "shinrin-yoku" or "forest bathing," is a guided outdoor healing practice that encourages mindful engagement with nature, promoting mental and physical well-being through sensory experiences and nature connection.

In such a beautiful weather, are you ready to experience a slow-paced wondering in nature together with a trained forest therapy guide?

We are so blessed to have Sock Gee Gan to lead us in this 2-hour guided retreat.

It is a free event for people from all walks of life. Donations are welcome if you support our commitment and continuous works on promoting community members' happiness, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

Registered today! We are looking forward to seeing you, rain or shine : )

Here comes more info about forest therapy and our session:

A Certified Forest Therapy Guide
Let me tell you a little bit about Sock Gee. She is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association on Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. A resident of Mississauga who loves to wander and explore in nature, she is eager to share the many benefits of Forest therapy with the community.

Forest Therapy
Rest and Rejuvenate through mindful and sensory awareness while immersing ourselves under the forest canopy. Re-member that we are part of nature. Deepen our relationship with the nature. Forest Therapy, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, provides you the chance to unplug, unwind and reconnect with yourself and nature. Experience the benefits of slow-paced wandering in nature with a trained forest therapy guide on a 2-hour guided retreat.

Who should attend?
Everyone is welcome. Walk is slow and gentle.

What to expect?
Experience for yourself when we unplug, unwind and open our senses to the natural environment. A series of invitations will be offered to guide you to interact with the land and the more than human world. There is no right or wrong way to engage these invitations, just come be yourself.

What to wear and bring?
Comfortable clothing and shoes, hats, insect repellent, sunscreen. This is a rain or shine event unless its severe weather. If it rains, please wear waterproof layers or bring an umbrella. We will be sitting and ground may be wet so consider bringing something to sit upon. Highly recommended to bring a backpack for your possessions to keep your hands free.

Enjoy some tea afterward
Consider bringing your own mug for a tea service at the end of the walk, chatting a bit, and making new friends if you are interested.
