Dear old friends and new friends,

Have you ever curious about what a monastery daily life would be like? We are cordially invite you to come to the Buddha's Light Centre Waterloo (BLIA) to participate in our Half-Day Buddhist Retreat (conducted in English). We hope to offer you a wonderful spiritual experience for you to let go, find peace, and reconnect to your core values, and yourself.

Monastery daily life revolves around a disciplined cycle that could include chanting, sutra reading, meditation, observing silence, various forms of study, light chores to sustain a loving-kindness community, silent meal, spiritual journaling, and more.

In the Buddhist tradition, a daily routine in the monastery generally start before dawn and end late, prioritizing community service and contemplation on Buddha dharma over personal desires. But due to the time limitation, we will only design a half-day program with selective cultivation activities for you to experience.

This is a free event. But we welcome donations for supporting our ongoing meetup events. We welcome everyone from all walks of life to join. No background in Buddhism will be required.

Please bring:
- A pair of black color indoor shoes
- Wear comfortable long selves clothes and long sleeves pants, ideally in grey color.
- Or you can wear the clothes of your choices that are comfortable and respectful.
- Bring your own water bottle.

We are so grateful to receive the support from the Abbess of the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. Venerables from the Temple will be with us during the retreat to give us their personal guidance.

It is a rare opportunity. We will put all our hearts in designing a wonderful spiritual program for you and we hope to receive your support as well. There are only limited spots. So please sign up ASAP.
