How To Successfully Heal Mental Illness with the Mind

Details

Do you suffer from a mental illness and are not sure how to move forward?

I went through many, many years of being in the grip of what was happening in my mind. It was chaotic, terrifying, and a place that was very difficult to live with. My mind was running the show, and this left me in a place of having to ride the rollercoaster that was driving me.

I didn't know how to get off this rollercoaster, and was using substances to help me get through the suffering, though this only made it worse in the long run.

I know what it's like to feel that the mind is in control, to experience delusional thinking, thinking things that don't make sense in rational reality, though are somehow true for you within, and to be in a state where the mind feels more like a beast rather than a happy devotee.

Understanding the mind and how it works can help you realise how to harness it, and use its power to help you to create the life you desire. Even if you have a mental illness.

But what happens if we don't understand what the mind is and how it works?

We continue going through the cycles and inbuilt patterns that are controlling our daily behaviour and our lives.

In this free zoom event I will teach you what the mind is, how it works in terms of mental illness, whether that's bipolar, schizophrenia, or schizo-affective disorder, and also how to help the mind to adjust to change and work for you.

When we have a mental illness there is usually a vast array of things that are contributing to it. Changing these things can help to change the mind, though there are specific practices that can change the mind. If we use practices that change our mind, we can begin to experience the shift in thinking, inner freedom, inner peace, and wellbeing.

In this event we will focus specifically on the mind with 3 powerful steps you can take to shift your thinking.

These 3 steps are:

1. Understanding what the mind is, how it works, how to make it work for you, and how to create change within the mind.

If we don't understand what the mind is, we will have trouble relating to it, nurturing it, and helping it to transform into empowerment.

In this first step we will look at the levels of disintegration and integration of the psyche, and how that applies to mental illnesses. There are many levels of human functionality, and the level of integration you are at determines how you experience your reality, and in turn, how you relate to yourself and the world.

2. Meditation and deep inner work. I believe one of the greatest things we can do to help the mind is to find a meditation practice that works for us.

Meditation is like exercise for the mind. It helps it to function and work for you. It gives the mind space to process and understand yourself. There are specific meditations that work to help cultivate a deeper awareness of self, and also to help you attain mental clarity.

Meditation specifically to help the mind heal from mental illness is something we will explore here. And depending upon the level of disintegration or integration you are at will determine the correct practice for you.

3. Using mental shifts to create change. By understanding the mind, implementing practices that help foster health and happiness in the mind, and then utilising specific methods that awaken and calm the mind and bring it to grace can help ensure that your mind is expanding and integrating towards wholeness.

I understand that going through a psychosis or psychotic episode may have opened you up and expanded your mind in a chaotic way. What we are doing here is looking at ways that we can nurture that expansion through specific shifts you can create that allow the mind to function and work for you.

~

I know that creating change in the mind to heal mental illness is possible, as I have been working on my own healing and movement towards wholeness for the last 10 years. I have a diagnosis of schizophrenia, and I understand what it can be like to be on a rollercoaster, even if that is simply in the mind.

The exploration through my healing journey over these last 10 years has helped me to understand mental illness, though also to know what works to make the movement towards health and happiness, fulfillment and purpose.

There is nothing more important for someone who has gone through intense trauma than to be able to make the journey towards healing and wholeness.

I hope you join us at this free zoom event, and I look forward to seeing you there!
