Celebrate the opening of the Festival of Arts

I just thought I would remind you that the FOA is opening to the public on this day - and you should come by if at all possible. Of course, you have until August 30th!

I will be there at my booth and would love to see anyone that can make it - I will be there most of the summer from 4 pm until 8:30, and weekends, when the jazz is happening, well, of course!

I closed my cooking group recently - just too much photography on my plate - so YOU are it - and I hope you will come by and see the art and visit me, and we will schedule a get-together after the Festival is over - I will have many things to share, for sure.

In the meantime, work on your art!

I am up to about $12,000 invested now, mostly making metal prints, which proves to be quite challenging - thinking about going over to acrylic sandwich prints as a young colleague in the FOA is doing - Allwine, check out his work. Otherwise, insurance, advertising, WINE, gallery hanging, lights, drywall, mounting and matting prints to sell from the bins, lots of expenses - and just getting my Linhof reconditioned by a guy on Palos Verdes who is really into large format - to the tune of $600 - but it will be sweet again - no missing parts, smooth as it was when I bought it in 74. I am getting my 90 and 150 ready for some film shooting before the FOA - and some good ideas for new series ...

So - be there when you can - and if I have not met you, introduce yourself - and if I have met you, share what you are up to - although I do see a lot on my Facebook page ...
