What we’re about
We meet in small groups (ideally 4-6) mostly in the La Jolla-Encinitas corridor for fine and fine-enough breakfasts, lunches, teas and coffees, happy hours, and early dinners. Conversations revolve around books, films, and travel. Bonhomie is the order of the day. Good food and drink are the lovely etceteras...
Three Essentials to Know Before Requesting Membership:
1) Cordial participation without pecuniary self-interest is expected at all times. And though differences of opinion that spur superb conversations are welcome, intolerance of people or ideas, rudeness, and self-righteousness are antithetical to the spirit of this group.
2) We're all expected to honor our affirmative RSVP or cancel it in a timely manner so that those on the waitlist can be notified and/or reservation can be amended.
3) Sometimes restaurant will not provide separate checks. Please plan accordingly.
In closing, please know that the organizer of this group pays for her meals just like the other members do, and she does not get any special advantage for organizing the group or suggesting restaurants and venues. She does the work of organizing the group only because she enjoys conversing with pleasant, interesting people.
