October 2025 meetup and get together - in Tampere

It's time for the October edition of Finnish Testing Meetup Tampere chapter!

Party tricks of testing
Party tricks are packaged responses to things we in testing often need to illustrate. For me they come in three forms, and I have a collection to share these days.

• Little exercises that create a shared experience
• Stories with an educational point
• Testing proverbs (avoid name) and quotes (drop a name)

I have found these to be useful from stages, as much as in random work encounters with needs in educating colleagues about testing perspectives and driving through essential lessons.

Tell Me Where It Hurts: A Consultant’s Visit to a Project With History
Consultants rarely get the luxury of starting fresh. Most of the time, we walk into projects that have been living, breathing, and occasionally breaking for many years. The code has history, the team has habits, and you are a newcomer with annoyingly bright eyes and at least a bazillion new ideas.
This talk is about what it’s like to join a project mid-development. It’s about figuring out where it hurts, can we fix it and most importantly - should we fix it? Sometimes, you get to heal a pain point. Sometimes, you just learn to live with it. And sometimes - in the best of times - you get a story to tell to your peers.
