FT 107: Blockchain and Its Potential Applications in Finance

In this volume of FinTech Tokyo, our guest speaker Mike, will take us on another dive into blockchain and its application in Finance. He will also share with us his experience participating in a Hackathon and launching an in-house blockchain based project whilst working at a large bank.

Mike will talk about:

1. A non-technical but focused recap of Blockchain and distributed ledgers. Their possible applications to finance with illustrative examples drawn from day-to-day processes/problems.

2. Conceiving a blockchain based project during a Hackathon and consequently developing it an in-house accelerator.

3. Drawing on this experience, he will share some of the lessons he learned in launching and managing a fintech project at a large bank and which potential directions blockchain technology might take in the financial industry.
