We are looking forward to welcoming the academic, research and business community to Zagreb, Croatia from 5 - 6 May 2022 for the 'Technology, Innovation and Stability: New Directions in Finance (TINFIN)' International Scientific Conference.
The Conference is organized as a hybrid event by the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zagreb, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and COST Action CA19130 FinAI - Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance - Towards a Transparent Financial Industry.
We aim to bring together researchers and practitioners to present their research and discuss topics covering current challenges and roadmap for the financial industry as well as traditional framework in finance. Topics include, but are not limited to:
• Artificial intelligence in finance
• Consumer finance, over indebtedness and payments
• COVID-19 recovery for financial institutions and markets
• Cybersecurity and financial crime
• Financial integration in Europe
• Financial markets and risk management
• Financial stability, financial regulation and supervision
• FinTech and digital finance
• Future banking
• Monetary policy in a low interest rate environment
• Sustainable finance
The Conference will host COST Sessions (on May 5th 2022) and COST FinAI Working Group 2 - 'Transparent versus Black Box Decision-Support Models in the Financial Industry' meeting (on May 6th 2022). Please find here the preliminary agenda of the WG2 meeting:

In order to present their research at the Conference, authors can send an abstract and/or full paper.
Conference keynote titled "Manifold Destiny: Unsupervised Machine Learning for the Social Sciences" will be held by professor James Ming Chen (Michigan State University, College of Law, USA).
Within the COST session, professor Jörg Osterrieder (Zurich University of Applied Sciences - ZHAW, School of Engineering, Switzerland) will give an Overview of the COST FinAI Action.
Important dates:
Abstract submission deadline: March 1, 2022 (extended to April 1, 2022)
Abstract notification: 15 days from submission
Final paper submission deadline: After the conference (May 31, 2022)
Final paper acceptance notification: 30 days from submission (After the conference)
Conference dates: 5 - 6 May, 2022
Participants are waived of any registration fees to attend the event.
