Pieter van der Velden (55) is a Chartered Public Accountant with over 30 years of international finance and tax leadership experience. He spent 14 years at KPMG Netherlands auditing major corporates before moving to Royal FrieslandCampina, where he held senior finance roles as Finance Director at the head office and in Indonesia and the Middle East, and as Managing Director of the EMEA Service Centre in Budapest. Pieter currently works as an independent consultant helping private individuals with their financial planning journey.

Pieter is a long-term index investor himself, and a long time active member of the community in Belgium. He has studied the new tax on capital gains in Belgium (coming this January) and provides guidance to investors on the expected consequences of this new tax. As part of his collaboration with Tim Nijsmans (from De Vermogengids), Pieter will soon release a comprehensive white paper on the upcoming capital gains tax.
