I have been investing for my sons, nephews and nieces since 2016.

But I didn't open a brokerage account for each of them. That would be too many things to manage (and fees to pay).

Instead, I created a spreadsheet that I use to track each child's investment as part of my own portfolio of index ETFs. We contribute to each child's account each year, and for their birthday, we print an investment report that we give to the child (and his/her parents).
