This free event is hosted by the Chehalis River Basin Land Trust. Ryan from Firecraft Northwest will be leading the excursion to help promote the work. Please join us if you are interested! Please RSVP on the land trust website using the submission form.
Description
Join the Chehalis Land Trust team for a free, educational walk through Discovery Trail to watch, listen, and learn about birds of the Chehalis River ecosystem.
We recommend comfortable footwear, water, and a rain shell for this outing. If you would like to borrow raingear for the outing, just let us know!
This community event is free and open to the public. Details on parking and where to meet at the trail will be sent to all registered parties the week leading up to the event. RSVP link.
Where should I park?
The gate will be open so you may drive in along the curved road and park next to the big red barn, or you are welcome to park at the main Discovery Trail parking lot, about 1/2 mile before the trailhead if you’d like some extra mileage!
How will I find the group?
We’ll meet next to the old red barn under the covered area with benches just before the trailhead.
Please review the address and directions carefully, some folks using apple maps have received incorrect directions going through a private property parcel.
What should I bring on this outing?
- Comfortable footwear
- Binoculars if you have some!
- Layers for rain and various weather conditions to stay cozy
- Water, beverages
- Snacks will be available at the shelter
This event is free and open to the public! All ages are welcome, but children in attendance must be accompanied by an adult or parent.
It’s always helpful to know if you’ll be joining us! Please RSVP for the event with the link.
