Mid-Summer Wildflowers & Plants of the Oak Prairie ($25)

Below the South Sound and many areas of Western Washington and Oregon remain a small fraction of beautiful Oak Prairies that once stretched far and wide. During this outing, walk the Scatter Creek Wildlife Area to learn and study the mid-summer wildflowers and plants in this incredible habitat.

This plant-focused walk will be a flat, easy meander along the trails of the prairie. We will stop frequently to study plants and wildflowers, learning their names, ethnobotany, history, and ecology. Participants will learn relevant botany basics and useful terminology.
