Hike & Forage! Ebbor Gorge, Beautiful Woodland & Clifftop Walk Nr Bristol & Bath

🔸 Date: Saturday 29th January.
🔸 Time: 09:30 start (arrive 09:15 to allow time for parking). Finish around 1pm.
🔸 Dog Friendly: it's a great walk for your furry friends.
🔸 Difficulty: Moderate. It'll be very muddy in places, and there's some steep uphill and downhill sections. Approx. 3 miles / 5km but not flat!
🔸 Cost: FREE!

Join us for a winter forage and energetic walk at Ebbor Gorge, near Bristol and Bath. Foraging will be limited at this time of year but we'll hope to spot some winter mushrooms and early plants along the route. More of a hike than a forage for this one!

Please wear good hiking boots and bring waterproofs - it's winter hiking! Parking is limited, so please do share cars where possible.

Rich will be leading this walk and here are some of the highlights of this route:

🔹 A walk through woodland and over the ice age gorge with clifftop views.
🔹 Ancient standing stones and amazing views across the mendips and Somerset levels.
🔹 Possibility of finding some winter edible and medicinal fungi with advice on safely identifying and using them.
🔹 + Edible and useful plants.

Rich will also share tips on bushcraft/winter survival including the materials to look out for to get a fire going even in the worst conditions.

Extra notes:
🔹 Please dress for the weather, bring waterproofs and wear good walking boots; it'll be muddy and you'll need good grip and ankle support for the hike around the gorge.
🔹 Bring any food and drink to keep you going, and we recommend a small rucksack to stow things in.
