Survival Training! 2-Day Course. Learn To Survive in the Wild. Camp + Bushcraft.

🔸 Date: Thursday 12th & Friday 13th May, 2022.
🔸 Time: Arrive from 09:30 for a 10:30am start on 12th May. Finish around 4pm on Friday 13th May.
🔸 Camping: an optional camping pitch per person is included (bring your own tent/kit) - see details below.
🔸 Level: Beginner - absolutely no previous experience needed.
🔸 Cost: £50 per person.

We're thrilled to announce this Survival & Bushcraft 2-day course at a wonderful location near Frome, Bruton & Shepton Mallet in Somerset!

This is a structured but relaxed course covering the essentials for wilderness survival, including:

🔹 Fire: learn firelighting techniques, natural materials and where to find them, fire building for different uses: cooking, warmth and signalling. Fire safety and extinguishing will also be covered.
🔹 Shelter: correct siting and techniques for shelter building.
🔹 Water: finding and making water safe to drink.
🔹 Food: foraging for food and how to get calories and nutrients from the wild.
🔹 Prioritisation & risk mitigation: understand the mental and physical challenges of true survival situations and how to overcome them.
🔹 Equipment use, including survival knives and saws (provided for the course).

What's included:

🔹 Expert training by Rich and the Fireside team.
🔹 Wonderful woodland location, shelter and campfire at the excellent Field725 camping between Frome and Bruton.
🔹 Free coffee & tea.
🔹 Camping pitches: free grass pitches (bring your own tent) are included, or you can upgrade to one of the other accommodation options on site (contact the campsite to book).
🔹 Glamping facilities: hot showers, flushing toilets, a kitchen area and beautiful views across rolling hills.
🔹 Note: food is not included so please bring your own, which you can cook on the campfire or in the campsite kitchen.

We're subsidising this course to keep the cost down as much as possible, because we truly believe in the essential need to learn survival skills in the 21st century. These are skills you can apply in many circumstances, anywhere in the world.

🔹 Parking: there is free parking on site.
🔹 Camping: an optional free camping pitch and access to the glamping facilities is included.
🔹 Please dress for the weather, bring waterproofs and wear good footwear.
🔹 Bring any food and drink you like, and we recommend a small rucksack to stow things in.
