Cheddar Gorge Forage & Hike: Hedgerow Edibles, Mushrooms, Goats & Amazing Views!

🔸 Date: Saturday 25th June.
🔸 Time: 09:00 start (arrive to allow time for parking). Finish around midday.
🔸 Dog Friendly (note: there are wild goats around).
🔸 Difficulty: Moderate. Long uphill walk initially, although we'll forage along the way so there'll be plenty of breaks.
🔸 Cost: FREE! Parking is £4 via an honesty box (cash only)

Join us for an energetic walk and forage at one of the South West's best locations: the stunning Cheddar Gorge!

We're going to do one side of the Gorge, not the full loop, so it's a moderate difficulty walk and we'll be foraging along the way. If the weather is good, bring lunch/snacks and we can spend some time at the top of the Gorge, which has stunning views.

Rich is leading this walk and will show you any wild foods along the way. This will be an adventurous, fun and energetic walk with like-minded people.

Here are some of the highlights of this route:

🔹 Foraging for hedgerow edibles, wild teas and mushrooms!
🔹 One of the best hikes in the South West with crazy views for miles around.
🔹 Wild goats! There are troops of wild goats at the Gorge, which are perfectly friendly but should be given space as they're likely to have young in June.
🔹 The walk is safe and you can stay away from the cliff edges if you're not a fan of heights!
🔹 Lots of cool stuff to do nearby afterwards including the excellent Cheddar & Wookey Hole caves.

🔹 Parking: We’ll meet at Lynch Farm car park, which you can find by putting “The Lippiatt, Cheddar” or postcode BS27 3QP in your sat nav. It’s £4 per car, via an honesty box.
🔹 Please dress for the weather, and wear good walking boots/shoes.
🔹 Bring any food and drink to keep you going, and we recommend a small rucksack to stow things in.
