First Draft Assembly organises two types of events:
🤝 A networking evening for the indie book publishing community - writers, editors, artists, designers, publishers, and anyone actively carving their own path into the industry. This isn’t a polished industry mixer or a room full of rehearsed pitches. It’s a relaxed space for real conversations and shared experience. Connection built around curiosity and doing things differently.
📖 A get-together to combat the decline in reading. A relaxed reading and social event for people who want to make space for stories again. Come read quietly alongside others, then stick around to chat about what you’re reading, what you love, or what you’re rediscovering. All genres welcome. All reading levels welcome. Come as you are.
