Details

All welcome to join us around the First Lutheran Firepit (located just north of the Peel House front porch). Bring your favorite beverage and a snack if you wish and join a lively discussion about this week's sermon. Remember, you can always find the sermon written in this week’s Ekklesia Newsletter

This week's discussion questions:
Getting to Know Me
1. Can you share a time when you were anxious about something new but later discovered that everything had been prepared for you, like the school example in the sermon?
2. The sermon talked about “living with an abundance mindset” instead of a scarcity mindset. Which one do you tend to lean toward in everyday life? Why?
3. Have you ever seen someone’s generosity inspire more generosity from others? What happened?
Into the Bible
4. In Luke 12:32, Jesus says, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” What does this reveal about God’s character and His relationship with us?
5. Jesus connects trusting God’s provision with giving to others (Luke 12:33–34). Why do you think our “treasure” leads our “heart” rather than the other way around?
6. The parables of the pearl, the net, and the mustard seed all point to the surprising and hidden value of God’s Kingdom. Which image speaks to you most, and why?
Application
7. If someone looked at how you invest your time, resources, and energy, what might they conclude about where your heart is?
8. The sermon urged us to be “ready for Jesus’ return” by actively living out Kingdom values. What is one specific change you could make this week to live more like that?
9. Think about one area of your life where fear or worry still holds you back from generosity. What would trusting God’s abundant provision look like in that area?
10. The sermon described Christians as “free to love, serve, and give” because of God’s provision. How could you show that freedom in a tangible way to someone in need this month?
