4. Read Luke 20:27–38. What do you notice about the way Jesus responds to the Sadducees’ question? What does His answer reveal about God’s nature?
5. Jesus says, “God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” What does this statement teach us about the resurrection and God’s ongoing relationship with His people?
6. The Sadducees’ misunderstanding came partly from assuming heaven operates by earthly rules. What are some earthly assumptions we might bring to our understanding of eternal life?
7. In the passage, Jesus corrects the Sadducees’ view of women and marriage. How does His response reveal God’s heart for justice and equality?
