Understanding money through concepts of a communication system

Money is a foundational concept for anything we do with finance. Do we understand it enough? Let's apply new mental models to check and strengthen our understanding.

In some of the earlier catchups, we discussed the principles of money and it's various forms. Extending that topic on money, in this talk we'll try to draw parallels between a money system and a communication system.

The scientific research paper - A mathematical theory of communication by Claude Shannon is a great source to understand communication systems and how to represent it's core concepts mathematically. We'll use this book as a reference to apply new mental models and perform some thought experiments to understand money and payments, even more deeper.

Useful for Product Managers and Programmers working in Fintech. This will help apply right mental models to the Fintech problem statements you are working on.
