Welcome to First Steps Into The Sketching World. If you have always wanted to pick up a pencil but felt intimidated by the blank page, this is the place for you. We are a relaxed group of beginners focused on the process of learning to see and capture the world around us. There is no pressure to be an artist or to produce a masterpiece; our goal is simply to build confidence and develop a new habit in a supportive, low-stakes environment.
We meet regularly to practice basic techniques, share our progress, and keep each other motivated. Whether you are interested in urban sketching, still life, or just doodling in a notebook, you will find plenty of encouragement here. Everyone is welcome regardless of their current skill level, as we believe that the most important part of sketching is just showing up and making that first mark.
