What we’re about
Hi, I'm Melanie. I'm an atheist and a member of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Baltimore.
Our services are about modern topics... about trying to live together in a real, fair and pluralistic community. We have "sermons" about everything from transportation policy to how to be your best self. We host events like game nights and fall festivals, the Charles Street Promenade starts right at our door, and the St. Patrick's Day parade goes right past us, too.
Every Sunday at 10:30 is service. At 11:30 is coffee, cookies and a lot of socializing! There are special social event Meet Ups, too. Watch for them! I will put a ❤️ in the title, so they stand out.
Everyone is invited. Just come and geek out with us whenever the topic we're discussing speaks to you. No need to promise to come back or donate. We have many members and friends of the church who do not attend services: showing up on Sunday morning is not a requirement. We have various social groups, impromptu parties, and neighborhood dinner circles, etc. Anyway, just watch this space for announcements of all kinds of events.
If you're bored, lonely, or feel like having a chat about nothing in particular, you are welcome, too! Sit in on the service or just come for the coffee at 11:45. Coffee is in the attached building, the door is on Charles.
For those who avoid stairs: The church and coffee building are both easy to get to without stairs. If you want to skip service and show up at 11:45 for the coffee, come to the church because the stairfree path to the coffee building goes through the church.
