Boynton Inlet Park Intercoastal beach for Snook

Plan A is to go into the first cut under the bridge just south of the beach and follow it around and then go across the Intracoastal Waterway to the Boynton Beach Spillway. If it is open, that is where we plan to do most of our fishing. If it is closed, well, we will fish it anyway, but work our way back and fish in the Intracoastal.

There is a shallow flats area just outside of the spillway canal to the north that should hold some fish. We will find out if that is still true. :-)

Most of the Snook bite that I have been hearing about seems to end around 8:30 a.m. EXCEPT at open spillways, where the bite is more dependent on other things. The Boynton spillway is S41 and I will check to see if it is open when I leave my house around 6. It does not matter too much as we will check it out even if it is not open. Sunrise is around 7.

The Boynton Inlet Park is in Ocean Ridge (put 6990 or 6900 N. Ocean Blvd., 33435 into Google Earth or Google Maps).

Plan B is like Plan A except we would go straight west along the wall, fish the shoal area, go around the west side of the island, and then across to the Spillway. If a lot of people want to join us, we can split up and do both. This spillway is not accessible from land, so it is not too much over fished.

Remember that we will have mostly an outgoing tide, so be careful not to get "caught" going out the Inlet. OK? I mention that because new people to that area do not understand how strong that Inlet is as an outlet.
