See all- A hike and then Ethiopian food!Radnor Lake State Park, Nashville, TN
Ready for a hike followed by some exotic fare?
Lets meet at 3PM and Radnor lake state park trail. We'll meet at the Radnor lake west parking lot in front of the Walter Criley visitor center accessed from Otter creek Rd. DO NOT go to the east lot, that will be on the other side of the lake. Parking is often full, in which case you should go back and park at the Strong Tower Bible Church lot which is on the north west corner of Otter creek and Granny White pike. I will plan to arrive at 245pm or so and we'll plan to start hiking shortly after 3pm.
We will be hiking about 5 miles with a roughly 1,000 ft elevation gain. The route we will take is considered moderately difficult, although there are plenty of spots where one can break off and continue on an easier, flat route.
We will head east from the parking lot and then hike most of the south cove trail - this is a hilly trail through the woods with lot of opportunities to see deer, eagles and turkeys. We will then go around the lake on a mostly flat trial with lots of other wild animals to be seen. The hike will take about 90 minutes to complete. After the hike we will head to Gojo Ethiopian cafe - https://maps.app.goo.gl/HjxAAfybw99eKZAw7 for Ethiopian food. Gojo does not serve Alcohol.
You are welcome to join us for both or just Dinner. Please note your plan in your RSVP so I can estimate the attendee count.
This kid friendly trail is partially paved and dogs are only allowed on the paved portions.
Post on the event or the event chat or Call/Text my cell #206 719 7224 if you are running late.
This event is cross posted and there will be more than just the RSVP's here.
