What we’re about
We’re a weekly recreational co-ed softball league that enjoys low key, low stress games of softball in beautiful Central Park! We use a “social” format that features weekly team shuffling, so you’ll get the opportunity to play alongside everybody in the league at some point and meet plenty of new people!
We have been playing for years, and all skill levels are welcome - even if you’ve never played before! Space is limited to ensure that everybody gets ample playing time, so if you’re interested in joining us this season, let us know!
Who: We’re a group of softball aficionados mostly in our late 20s to 40s of a wide variety of skill levels!
What: Central Park Softball on Saturday afternoons, two games, from 12pm-4pm. We are scheduled for 14 weeks, weather permitting, from April 19th to August 9th. We understand that players often cannot make every game, and there’s no obligation to - we’ll balance the teams around absences.
What makes us special: We embrace a fun attitude toward the sport, with weekly themed games such as “Prefers Cats vs. Prefers Dogs” and “New York Native vs. Transplant”. Many strong friendships have formed within the league, and the after game bar is a lively scene that can include trivia games, shuffleboard, and arguing if the Astrodome should be considered the eighth wonder of the world.
