Hailed for its "theatrical magic" by The New York Times, War Horse puts the actors on stage with life-sized horse puppets that are intricately designed and visually stunning. The play tells the epic story of Joey, a farm horse sold to the cavalry in World War I. Albert, the boy who trained and bonded with Joey on the farm, embarks on a treacherous journey to rescue the beloved animal from behind enemy lines. This original National Theatre of Great Britain production, which packed houses in London and New York, comes to Ft. Lauderdale on its United States tour. With stirring music and astonishing puppetry by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company, this remarkable tale brings to life breathing, galloping, charging horses sturdy enough to actually be ridden by the actors.
