Since the Great Music Group seems to have eclectic musical taste, we are continuing with the pattern of alternating between classical music and classic rock, and since the last meeting was focused on classical music (Fanny Mendelsohn), we will revert back to classic rock for our upcoming meeting. Currently, the most notable thing about classic rock bands is how many of them are making their farewell tours, and we've already done The Eagles (whose Long Goodbye Tour seems like it may go on indefinitely), but another classic rock band making their Over and Out Tour is ELO, the Electric Light Orchestra. And ELO is somewhat unique among rock bands in having a string section (cellos and violins) that gives then a fuller and distinctive sound in songs such as: "Livin' Thing," "Don't Bring Me Down," and "Telephone Line." We can watch live performances and discuss these and many more ELO hits as well as their talented leader, Jeff Lynne (also co-founder of The Traveling Wilburys)
