What to Expect as a Guest
Guests are always welcome to come as many times as you'd like before deciding if Toastmasters is right for you. There's no pressure and no obligation.
Here's how a typical meeting flows:
Welcome & Theme
We'll kick things off with opening remarks and introduce the theme for the evening.
Prepared Speeches
A couple of members will deliver prepared speeches they've been working on, ranging from a few minutes to longer, depending on where they are in their speaking journey.
Table Topics
This is the impromptu speaking portion of the meeting, and it's where guests are invited to jump in if they'd like. Participants get about 1-2 minutes to speak on a topic they hear for the first time in the moment. It's low-pressure, a little fun, and a great way to see what Toastmasters is all about.
Participation is completely optional, you're welcome to just watch if you'd rather ease in.
Evaluations
Members give each other supportive, constructive feedback on their speeches. This is one of the most valuable parts of Toastmasters, it's how everyone grows.
